A Searing play about a women at the mercy of social forces that threatens to engulp her. Working on various levels, the play reveals her plight amid the inner violence prevailing in the society, revealed through a mock trial by a group of actors, that rises to a dramatic crescendo.
The play succeeded in stirring the spectators to the unpleasant reality of a patriarchal social milieu that still continues to persist. An intricate drama within- drama, the piece unravels the tormented existence of a middle aged teacher who is abandoned in love and castigated by a male-dominated society.
Physically exploited and betrayed by her maternal uncle and then by a married colleague, she struggles to live a happy and upright life. The play espouses a feminist viewpoint and is a complex structure in terms of form and content.
